Giving back with Desert Edge FFA
But the very best part of growing a garden this spring? The fact we were able to give it all back to our local food bank, along with tremendous help from Desert Edge FFA members.
Last Friday, Desert Edge FFA students met us out on the farm to get their hands dirty and help us harvest our spring radish crop.
The students were able to get some hands-on farm experience, and learn a little about Arizona agriculture and the Rocker 7 Farm Patch 2015 Durum wheat crop through discussion during the harvest.
Upon harvest, the radishes were cleaned and loaded up to be transported to our local food bank, where the students helped unload and deliver 327 pounds of donated food!
