KELLY STECKER, FESTIVAL Director
Kelly Martin Stecker brings over 10 years of valuable marketing experience to Rocker 7 Farm Patch. Kelly has used her strong background in sales and marketing at a variety of businesses and organizations
across Phoenix and Southern New Mexico. She’s excited to utilize her experience and education in the
agriculture industry. Growing up in rural New Mexico, she knows firsthand the importance of what
agriculture means in our day-to- day life and is eager to share that with our community.
While living in small towns in New Mexico, Kelly was introduced to horses, beautiful landscape, and
perhaps most importantly green and red chile crops. While her home state gave her a passion for the
nature around her, she has made Arizona home for over a decade and chooses to live way out west,
surrounded by farmland and the White Tanks. It’s this beautiful landscape that she enjoyed as a child
and young adult that she chooses to raise her family near.
As a New Mexico State University Aggie, Kelly Studied Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management in
the Agriculture Education Department. While she didn’t know she’d be required to take Ag Ed classes,
she truly enjoyed them! Kelly is excited to be a part of a team of agriculture experts and educators.
Aside from joining our team, Kelly keeps busy with her husband and two children. She’s also a hiking
fanatic, a part-time endurance runner, and loves to cook.
Brandon and Katie Leister, Owners and Founders
Brandon met Katie in Texas, and convinced her to join him in his lifelong dream of building a business in production agriculture. It worked, and they harvested their first wheat crop on Rocker 7 Farms the same month they were married, in June 2008.
Since then, they have enjoyed six successful years of farming, and marriage, in the Valley of the Sun. For years, they dreamed of opening up their farm to welcome neighbors and the community for a fun, family farm experience, where they were educated as much as they were entertained. Rocker 7 Farm Patch is that dream come to life in Fall 2014.
Brandon’s family roots run deep in Arizona agriculture, in both crop and livestock production. Katie’s have just been planted, but she wouldn’t trade the experience of raising a farm family. Brandon’s role at the Farm Patch will be overseeing the actual crop production of the pumpkins you will pick, the maze you will navigate, and the sunflower field. Katie will be involved in the behind-the-scenes operations of setting up a new business and making sure everyone knows to visit us at the Farm Patch this fall.
When Rocker 7 Farms and Rocker 7 Farm Patch are running smoothly, Brandon and Katie spend every spare minute with their one-year-old daughter, Leyton, who is a fifth generation Arizona agriculturist. They also both enjoy the great Arizona outdoors and spend hunting season in search of big coues whitetail deer and fishing season waiting for a large bass to catch their line.
Rocker 7 Farm Patch is truly a family operation that has been years in the making, and we are beyond excited to finally share it with other families to help them create a memorable farm experience!
